Valerie is, in a word, intense. She is suave and sophisticated, smart and sensual, all especially good traits for a covert agent. Even with her brash confidence and fun-loving side, she is deadly serious in her dedication to justice and the elimination of criminals and villains. Surrounded by strangers and constantly dogged by enemies, she finds it difficult to trust people for very long before leaving them in the dust.

Although lacking superpowers, Valerie has had extensive experience and training as a covert agent for Interpol. She is highly skilled at espionage, evading the law, use of weaponry, gadgetry, and various other trades she's picked up in her travels. Valerie is also fluent in a wide variety of languages.

Valerie was raised by her mother, her father dying in the line of duty when she was very young. She swore to follow in his footsteps and to uphold the law. Later, her mother married the wealthy Mister Hawthorne.
Valerie joined Interpol at a young age, proving to be one of the most talented agents of the time and gaining superagent status within a few years of enlisting. She was assigned dangerous operations, particularly Kill-On-Sight targets.
She realized that the KOS targets followed particular patterns, and found that Interpol was being manipulated by a mysterious man named Redd White. When she tried to uncover his network, her membership with Interpol was erased, and she was marked as a wanted criminal.
