Kurain Spirit Channeling Technique

The Kurain Spirit Channeling Technique is a spiritual power inherited by the acolytes of Kurain. Its powers are most focused in those of the Fey bloodline, who are responsible for continuing this school of spirit channeling. The original application for the technique was for communicating with the deceased, traditionally through possession of the channeler's body. The art has since expanded into a wide array of mystical powers and spells, like telekinesis, clairvoyance, and summoning lightning.
The school is always led by the main family, but in their absence, Morgan Fey, the leader of the branch family, has seized control.
- Communing with the Dead
Spirit channeling's traditional use has been to call the spirits of the dead into the realm of the living, allowing the living to converse with them. Typically, a spirit channeler would invite the spirit to possess their body, thereby taking on the deceased individual's appearance; the spirit would be able to interact with the world of the living through this borrowed body.
Spirit channelers are also susceptible to possession by malevolent or lost spirits.
- Supernatural Powers
Spirit channeling has been found to have further applications beyond seances and reunions: it was discovered by Misty Fey that by calling the spirits of the dead into the world of the living, one could create a range of supernatural effects (much like normal ghost hauntings). What would appear to be telekinesis would actually be the spiritual energy of a deceased individual moving an object according the channeler's will. More powerful spirits could even produce lights, fire, and even influence living things by creating sensations or projecting thoughts to them. The spirits of dead supers could be called upon to use the powers they possessed in life, thereby expanding a spirit channeler's repertoire to potentially include all superpowers that have ever existed!
While channeled in this manner, the spirit is subject to the channeler's power, and has far less attachment to the living realm than they would in a possession.

- Channel Spirit
- The base technique of spirit channeling. The channeler's spirit temporarily leaves the body, sending them into a dreamless state. Their body is possessed by a dead spirit and takes on some of its qualities.
- Harness Spirit
- A modified version of regular Spirit Channeling. The channeler retains their own consciousness and control, and manipulates a dead spirit in order to harness any abilities it used in life. Many powerful spirits are stored in the three Magatama, and this ability makes them easy to retrieve and harness.

- Store Spirit
- Spirits can inhabit any of the three Magatama when summoned properly, allowing a channeler possessing the Magatama to easily call out the spirit for a variety of purposes.
