Spark Brushel is the one who asks the questions. He's got a nose for great stories, giving him a keen investigative sense without all the moral obligations of a detective. He's established himself as a top writer and reporter for the newspapers, due in part to his persistence in pressing people for all the interesting facts even if it drives them crazy. He cares more about information than even the law itself, and has been caught trespassing on private property: "doors were made to be opened", end quote. The only rules he follows by the book are the rules of the Associated Press writing style.
Brushel has caught wind of a huge story, and is determined to reveal the identity of heroine Super Makoto. He understands that there would be repercussions for finding out her identity, but as they say: "Journalism is the first rough draft of history," end quote. He might be getting more than he bargained for, however, since chasing down her story means closely following her through all of her adventures...
He cites a lot of quotations, and is always jotting down facts on his arm.

Spark Brushel, though merely an average everyday human being, has the ability to pester people and always have another question to ask. He's practiced in sneaking into places undetected by authority figures.
