[edit] Biography

Makoto currently works as a freelance artist, most often involved with art projects and murals for her alma mater, Ivy High.

Makoto's favorite colors are pink, purple, and violet.

Her hair is naturally blue. All of it.

[edit] Personality

Makoto is a withdrawn person with a severe case of agoraphobia. Normally, she hardly ever steps out of her home, preferring to experience the world through safer venues: reading literature, watching television, playing video games, and the like. Her artistic talents have bred something of a curiosity in her heart, however, and she struggles with wanting to explore the outside world while wanting to stay out of sight when in public. If she is ever to go outside, she must have someone accompanying her, either her father, Drew, or her friend, Wocky, but she will never set foot outside the house without her favorite plushie, Dream Warrior. Even then, she is extremely uncomfortable being around people and most often tries to hide or make herself unnoticeable.

Despite this, it's actually not that hard to engage Makoto on a personal level. Although afraid of the outside world and its dangers, Makoto is entranced by its mysteries and wonders, often inspired by other superheroes and reproducing what she has seen in her artwork with exacting detail. She especially loves magic and fantasy, and is perfectly happy babbling on about her interests. She is also completely unaware of how much she comes off as a dork in these cases.

Soft-spoken and mild-mannered, Makoto is unintimidating and often overshadowed by others, but her genuine love for life and art lends her a distinct magnetism.

[edit] Powers and Abilities

Makoto carries the Power Perfect from her mother, which manifests as a unique reality-bending power called Inspiration. She can summon nearly any object merely by drawing it, usually in her art pad. The range of things she can produce is nearly limitless, though she cannot create living things, and exceedingly large or complex things take up a proportional amount of time and energy. With few real combat abilities, Makoto often has to outsmart opponents, buying herself time to draw.

Makoto's Inspiration also grants her access to a surreal subspace dimension known as "Artspace". She can access this alternate dimension by jumping into an image in any medium. These portals of entry are more effective if she creates them herself, and she is also able to take other people with her if they are willing. Leaving this dimension is as simple as jumping back out through another image, ending up in its corresponding real-world vicinity.

When she acquires it, Makoto can also use the Black Nail Polish to greatly amplify her powers for a limited time, at the cost of subjecting herself to dark and negative emotions that risk spiraling out of her control. In this form, she is called "Venom Makoto," her outfit and artwork significantly darkens, and she uses gratuitous amounts of black.

[edit] Friends

Dream Warrior
A plushie created by Makoto's parents. It has great power and sentience when in the presence of Power Perfect.
Wocky Kitaki
Makoto's childhood friend. He tries to look out for her while maintaining a tough-guy image; the fact they spend a lot of time together doesn't help his reputation much.
Pearl Fey
A student from Ivy High, one of Makoto's friends. Stern and tomboyish, she sometimes makes it a point to stand up for Makoto.
Trucy Wright
A student from Ivy High, one of Makoto's friends. Playful and eccentric, she makes Makoto feel at ease with herself.
