Commissioner Dick Gumshoe, formerly both a Detective and a Blue Badger, is the current leader of both the Blazing Springs Police Force and the Blue Badger Corps. He talks openly and frequently with active Superheroes, acting as the main link between the two forces of justice.

Despite giving many people an impression of total incompetence, Gumshoe has had more than his fair share of training in both combat and investigation, allowing him to scale the ranks in law enforcement.
He has a knack for tools and technology, and if he's working hard on a case, he will sometimes bring out some of the more interesting tools of the Police Department to help out his work. Sometimes he'll even use technology which only the Blue Badger is supposed to have clearance to freely access. No one has raised a complaint about this yet, possibly because he always asks Ema nicely first.

- Maggey Gumshoe
- A retired Blue Badger like himself. The two are now married and work together to continue on the Blue Badger Corps together.

- Dustin Prince
- The late Blue Badger before him, and Maggey's late former boyfriend. He was jealous of him for dating Maggey, but despite that, the two worked together fairly often and Gumshoe held a lot of respect for this man.
- Ema Skye
- The current Blue Badger. Even though Gumshoe is in many ways a superior to Ema, she has never hesitated to give him orders and he has never failed to follow them.
- Miles Edgeworth
- He and Miles have a bond of "deep trust" from their years of working together between the police and law departments. Even so, Miles was reluctant to reveal his "Edge" side to him, and he had to learn about the enigmatic werewolf through Ema.

- Formally known as 'Lightning' of SL-6. He attempted to take Gumshoe's life, and though he was never fully successful, he injured Gumshoe enough with one trick that he forced him to go into early retirement.
