Charley

Charley is an intelligent plant being with rapid shapeshifting and growth properties created by Viola Cadaverini for the sole purpose of assisting and protecting her. It normally rests as a small bloom, but can rapidly generate armor and weapons using vines and bark-like growths that cover Viola's body. Charley has a dark red "eye" or "core" that is the center of its body; it can be severely weakened if this is damaged.

Viola's identity as "Belladonna" is recognizable when she is armored by Charley.

Charley is an epiphyte, growing around Viola's body and using it as a support in a non-parasitic relationship, as it gains sustenance from photosynthesis and mineral absorption. Like the rest of Viola's plant and fungi collection, it has an empathic bond with Viola that grants her limited telekinetic control over it. Charley is largely incapable of communication, but understands much of what Viola says.
